Press
We're a small, Chicago-based team building a dating app that starts with the place. If you're writing about us, everything below is fair to quote, and we'd rather you had it from us than guessed.
In one line
Place and Time is a dating app where the venue comes first: you find the spots in your city you'd actually want to be in, and then you find someone to share one with.
In one paragraph
Place and Time is a dating app built around a simple inversion: instead of matching people and then working out where to go, it starts with the places. People pick the bars, cafés and restaurants in their city they'd genuinely like to spend an evening in, and are matched with people whose choices — and whose calendars — overlap with theirs. It launches in Chicago, and it supports three ways of meeting: dating, double dating, and finding someone to do something with. The company is based in Chicago.
Things we can say
- Where: Chicago first. One city, properly, before any other.
- Who it's for: three kinds of profile ship together — dating, double dating, and an activity buddy for people who want company rather than a date.
- Why the venue comes first: a date that never gets scheduled is the most common way a match ends. Starting from a real place, with real opening hours, means the plan exists before the conversation does.
- Local businesses are the point, not the backdrop. The app sends people into independent venues, on purpose.
Things we won't do
- We won't give you user data. Not aggregate stories, not anonymised anecdotes, not "just one example". People joined a dating app, not a case study.
- We won't comment on an individual user, including to confirm that someone is or isn't on the app.
- We won't give you a launch date. We haven't committed to one publicly and we're not going to do it by accident in an interview.
Brand assets
Use these as they are. Please don't recolour the mark, stretch it, or set the name in another typeface — it's Fraunces.
- Share card PNG, 1200 × 630. The image that renders when someone shares a link to us.
- App mark PNG, 512 × 512, on a cream background.
- App mark (vector) SVG, outlines rather than live text, so it scales to anything.
The name is written Place and Time in prose and Place & Time in the logo. Either is fine; "Place&Time" and "PlaceAndTime" are not.
